What began as an engineering company for inspection in the oil and gas industry is today a worldwide provider of cutting-edge solutions in all areas of the integrity process chain. Innovation, know-how and a strong focus on customer needs are the key factors of ROSEN’s unique success story.
The ROSEN story began in 1981 in Windmühlenweg in Lingen, Germany. Here, in the Rosen family home, the company started the business under the name H. Rosen Engineering GmbH. A small production site around the corner looked more like a garage than a breeding ground for cutting-edge technology.
Nothing is impossible
The history of ROSEN is characterized by a tremendous thirst for adventure – in technological terms, of course. Empowered by technology was – and still is – at the core of what is now a global company. From the outset, it was clear that the leader in this industry would be the company that could recognize customer needs before the customers even knew those needs existed. No problem is too difficult and no challenge is too big: the perfect solution can always be found.
The key to this highly innovation driven approach is a sympathetic ear for the customer. Listening carefully to the specific needs and challenges that every customer brings along is the spark for every new product or service. Empowered by Technology – a promise that ROSEN systematically delivers by enhancing the operations of their customers and making them more safe, efficient and cost-effective and. Ultimately, this approach can enable customers to do things that were previously thought impossible.
End-to-end solutions under one roof
Another piece of the puzzle is the complementarity of ROSEN’s products and services. Designed to perfectly suit each other, ROSEN is one of the few specialists in all areas of the integrity process chain and is therefore capable of putting together end-to-end solutions under a single roof. From inspection and integrity services to high-quality polyurethane-based products, software and made-to-measure innovations, ROSEN offers products and services of the highest possible standards.
Every industry has its own unique and sometimes very specific challenges. A circumstance that ROSEN always sees as an opportunity because every challenge in this business, no matter in which industry, has the same origins – security, costs, faults and the requirements of public authorities. ROSEN answers these needs with world-class technological solutions that are reliable and cost-effective.
As an example, and as one of the latest inventions coming out of ROSEN’s research and development team, we can name ROSEN’s PU coating for mining pipelines. Extremely abrasive mined materials cause serious damage to the inside of the steel pipes. ROSEN’s multi-layer coating of highly non-abrasive Polyurethane, each layer a different color, shows the grade of abrasion at any time. A simple yet clever solution that increases the service lifetime of mining pipelines by a factor of ten.
Another outstanding and highly sought-after technology developed by ROSEN is the Electro-Magnetic Acoustical Transducer (EMAT) inspection that is used for crack detection and coating disbondment. After seven years of research and development, the first EMAT tool was commercially launched. A technology difficult to master in a ready-to-use solution, which has demonstrated excellent field verifications in finding and classifying cracks by means of the recorded data. Once more ROSEN has developed a solution that makes the operation of assets easier, safer and more efficient.
Ready for the future
The tremendous growth and diversification of the last 30 years required a few changes, not only for ROSEN as a company but also for the way it looks. ROSEN’s new corporate design now reflects ROSEN as a global provider of a vast collection of superior technologies in all areas of the integrity process chain suiting a wide range of industries: Oil & Gas, Energy, Process, Mining, Manufacturing, Telecommunications and Transportation for a wide range of assets, including pipeline, tanks and vessels as well as wind turbines, trains, telecommunication towers and many more.
