As of July 2006, organizations within the EU must comply with the ATEX directives to protect employees from the risk of explosion in areas where combustible vapors or gases are or may be present. ATEX Directive 94/9/EC describes the requirements for products and materials for use in areas with the risk of explosion, e.g. in petrochemical plants, pipeline systems, mining, etc.

The Solution

For environments with such explosion hazards ROSEN, has developed special ATEX compliant RoPlasthan elastomers and system solutions based on these materials.

The wear on sealing discs after 167 km distance was virtually zero, the wear on guiding discs minimal. Approximately half of the disc-width was in original condition. This means a significant service-life improvement compared to commonly used polyurethane disc-materials. The cleaning result regarding removal of wax from the pipeline was excellent.

Since requests for ATEX compliant cleaning tools are constantly increasing, all ROSEN cleaning tools and most accessories are now optionally available in an ATEX compliant versions.
