Tech Talk: Best Practice in Pipeline Bending Strain Assessment
Pipelines can experience bending strain due to geohazards or other external loads. Excessive bending strains can result in severely deformed pipeline or result in failures at girth welds. Managing bending strains requires an understanding of where and how the loads impact a pipeline asset. This session will cover best practices used during the analysis of pipeline bending strains, and how to maximize the value of inertial mapping unit data collected during in-line inspections.
