Tech Talk: FLOW ASSURANCE AND PIGGING FEASIBILITY STUDIES TO OPTIMIZE CLEANING OPERATIONS
Pipeline cleaning is often undertaken to manage flow assurance issues such as corrosion, slugging, wax, sand, etc., which are present in the pipeline system. In addition, pigging offshore pipeline assets is becoming, in many cases, increasingly challenging with the development of more deep water applications, the use of exotic materials, and increasingly demanding operating conditions. This tech talk will demonstrate how ROSEN has successfully combined flow assurance analysis along with pigging feasibility studies in order to optimize pigging in very challenging onshore and offshore pigging applications. This integrated approach has shown significant benefit in quantifying risks, evaluating mitigation strategies, confirming pigging feasibility, developing optimized pigging campaigns, and preparing robust operational plans.
