Virtual Meetup Series: Session 1 – Energy Transition and Existing Pipelines
As the world moves towards a decarbonized future, global demand for fossil fuels continues to rise. The challenge is to meet the increased energy demand while reducing overall emissions along the entire value chain. In this context, renewable hydrogen will play an important role as a flexible energy carrier, which in turn will have an impact on how we manage our (converted) pipelines.
Come and join us for a discussion about the importance of hydrogen for the energy transition and the role of existing pipelines. We will summarize the unique properties of hydrogen and the differences between hydrogen pipelines and natural gas pipelines. In addition, we will introduce a framework approach outlining a structured approach for the assessment of existing pipelines and the management of their conversion to, and operation under, hydrogen service. We are interested in your experience in this area. Curious?
