ROSEN attends the 2014 Pipeline Pigging and Integrity Management Conference (PPIM) as platinum sponsor with several contributions of our international experts.
Houston, TX, February 6th, 2014 – As a global service provider the ROSEN Group understands the importance of participating in industry conferences and forums that provide a platform for the exchange of technical information. In that spirit, the ROSEN Group continues its long-standing relationship with the Pipeline Pigging and Integrity Management Conference, now in its 26th year, remaining the Platinum Sponsorship of this event. The four day conference (February 10-13) will take place at the Marriott Westchase in Houston, TX, and will feature presentations from a ROSEN led international team of pigging and integrity experts, covering all aspects of asset integrity management.
“The PPIM has achieved a creditable reputation as a leading conference on pipeline pigging and integrity in the United States. We are proud of being given the opportunity to demonstrate our expertise in providing solutions for our customers applications as well as addressing future challenges for both our customers and the industry”, says Chris F. Yoxall, Executive Vice President, USA/Mexico and ROSEN Asia Pacific.
This year, the PPIM will feature parallel technical tracks, divided into: ILI and data assessment & risk as well as an offshore issues track.
Details on the ROSEN led presentations at the conference include:
• February 12th - 4:45 pm

ROSEN together with TransCanada Pipelines (TCPL) will detail recent findings on the assessment of low frequency electric resistance welded line pipe defects by using EMAT and circumferential magnetic flux leakage technology. Together with TCPL the presenters will outline the technologies’ sensitivity to defects in pre-1970s line pipe welds.
• February 13th - 8:45 am
Combining high resolution in-line geometry tools and finite element analysis to improve dent assessments (by Rhett Dotson/Dr. Chris Alexander, Stress Engineering Services, USA; Markus Ginten/Kathrin Schroeer/Julian Bedoya, ROSEN Group, Germany & Switzerland)
• February 13th - 9:55 am
Nord Stream establishes a baseline for offshore ILI programs
(by Andrey Voronov/Jean-Francois Plaziat/Steffen Paeper, Nord Stream AG, Switzerland; Stephan Harmsen, ROSEN Group, Netherlands)
With the achievement of the world record for the longest in-line inspection run ever at the Nord Stream pipeline system, ROSEN and Nord Stream will present details on the project tasks, challenges, key learnings as well as the unique technology required due to challenging design requirements and subsea conditions.
• February 13th - 1:45 pm
Practical implementation of a pipeline integrity management system (PIMS) in Russia – challenges and solutions (by Sergey Mashurov/Gaffar Mirzoev, Aerospace Monitoring and Technologies, Russia; Markus Brors/Otto Huisman, ROSEN Group, Germany)
In addition to the presentations, Chris F. Yoxall will be the featured lecturer of the “Pigging and In-line inspection course” on February 10th and 11th. With over 20 years' experience in the oil & gas industry the course provides an opportunity for Chris to transfer his knowledge and learnings to others within the industry. “Collaboration, cooperation and working together as a team has always been key drivers to the success of the ROSEN Group and it is a pleasure for me to share our experience on pigging and in-line inspection challenges”, states Chris.
