The ROSEN Group will again be participating in the Annual Pipeline Week. The conference and exhibition will take place for the third time, and will be hosted at The Woodlands Waterway Hotel and Convention Center in The Woodlands, Texas from 20 to 22 September, 2016. Pipeline Week is a compilation of both the annual Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) Oil & Gas Pipeline Conference and the Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) User Conference.

Pipeline Week will consist of a strong program of presentations, a forum, various training, networking functions, and over thirty exhibitors eager to discuss their latest solutions and services.

At the exhibition, the ROSEN Group will be showcasing services related to depth of cover, GIS, material property determination, and weather-related outside forces. Furthermore, we will be contributing to the conference proceedings with three presentations:

1. Geospatial Simulation Models for Consequence Management
Presenter:
Otto Huisman

This presentation will demonstrate the application of geospatial models to determine consequences of failure in pipeline risk models. It will also discuss the issues surrounding model complexity, quality, and resolution of input data. It will propose a simplified modelling approach which provides dynamic processing (changing conditions) at regular intervals along the pipeline. Specifically, gas release, explosion and ignition components are discussed, and their role in improving detailed risk estimations are shown using anonymized client data.

2. Managing the Threat of Dents and Third-Party Damage
Presenter: Dominic Wynne

In order to improve the detectability and reliable classification of third-party damage, this presentation will provide a tailored approach that is not limited to detection and classification, but also provides recommendations to safely manage dents and third-party damage as part of a wider pipeline integrity management system. It will also outline a case study that demonstrates how a tailored integrity assessment, using ILI and advanced assessment, as part of a wider pipeline integrity management system can be used to give confidence of the immediate and future integrity of a pipeline.

3. An Integrated Approach for Assembling Traceable, Verifiable and Complete Pipeline Records
Presenter: Christopher De Leon

Conventional ILI technologies are capable of delivering relevant information for MAOP/MOP calculation, such as wall thickness and diameter. However, until recently, no economic means for accurately measuring strength existed. This presentation will discuss the RoMat Service, a new inspection service that determines the yield strength for each pipeline joint.
