We consider it very important to contribute to sustainable development by delivering economic, social and environmental benefits to our local communities. We believe that this responsibility is another creative opportunity to support society while strengthening the moral foundation of our business. In 2018, our local offices have shown a great effort to give back to their communities — be it by directly providing the necessary means, or by facilitating the different activities initiated by ROSEN employees. Let’s have a look at some of the various contributions made by the different ROSEN teams across the globe.

ANNUAL CHILDREN’S CANCER RUN

Employees from our ROSEN UK offices put together a team to volunteer in the annual Children’s Cancer Run hosted by the North of England’s Children’s Cancer Research Fund. Team ROSEN helped set up and manage the race courses, direct, motivate and encourage participants, and ensure the safety of the runners. This event is the largest organized family fun run in Europe, seeing nearly 9,000 runners of all ages and raising more than £7 million over the past three decades for childhood cancer research.

CLEANING UP AUSTRALIAN BEACHES

A non-profit marine conservation organization was on a mission to clean up Coogee Beach, located south-west of Perth, Australia. Fifty-nine environmentalists joined the cause, eight of them were employees from the ROSEN Australia office. The effort resulted in 5,489 pieces of debris being collected, filling 13 bags weighing 58 kg.

SOLIDARITY FOR CHILDREN

On Children’s Day in Argentina, ROSEN Buenos Aires employees teamed up to donate clothes and toys to a local children’s shelter. Our employees ensured that the donations for the underprivileged children were properly gift-wrapped, transported, and delivered to the local shelter.

200 KILOMETER RIDE TO CONQUER

ROSEN Canada employees participated in a two-day major cycling event called the Ride to Conquer Cancer. The two-day ride covered over 200 kilometers. ROSEN participants raised over $22,000, which was donated to support cancer research, treatment and services at the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

FOSTERING YOUNG TALENT

ROSEN Germany played host to the FIRST® LEGO® League. This spirited competition, consisting of nearly 100 students from the local region, includes research projects and programming self-made LEGO robots to encourage youth to use creativity, technology and team spirit to accomplish tasks and overcome challenges. ROSEN Canada also sponsored a local robotics team in their adventure to the FIRST® World Championships in Houston. The team, made up of 30 high school students and their mentors, advanced to the championships by combining their mechanical and technical skills with strategy, scouting, and team collaboration.

MAKE, BAKE, SELL AND FUND

ROSEN Newcastle employees organized a bake sale to recognize Mental Health Awareness Week. The aim of this week is to raise awareness and highlight the importance of mental health by initiating discussions in an everyday environment, thus reducing stigma. ROSEN employees participated in the preparation, sale and purchasing of the bakery items. The goal was not only raise funds to support the cause, but also to utilize the time as a “de-stressing” activity.

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE

ROSEN Kuala Lumpur donated computers and monitors to Sekolah Kebangsaan Labohan Dagang in Banting, Selangor, to support nationally recognized online teaching and learning programs through the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) 1BestariNet. The gifted equipment enables the Malaysian school to access the valuable platform to connect with other schools and programs in the country, providing students with new opportunities for development in their education.
