ROSEN Group Commissions 2-Megawatt Photovoltaic Plant in Lingen Germany

Successful Project Completion in Collaboration with Stadtwerke Lingen

The ROSEN Group has successfully completed the installation of photovoltaic systems on its corporate buildings in Lingen, a project which began in 2025. In collaboration with Stadtwerke Lingen, a photovoltaic system with a total capacity of approximately two megawatts was implemented. With an investment of approximately two million euros, the company is strengthening its self-sufficiency in renewable energy and making a targeted investment in the long-term development of the site. The system is now fully operational and is already making a significant contribution to the company’s energy supply, thereby laying the foundation for further corporate growth in the coming decades.

A total of approximately 4,500 solar modules were installed on nearly all suitable building roofs at the site, covering an area of around 9,000 square meters. The system is controlled by a smart energy management system that enables energy use tailored to demand. Already today, 98.7 percent of the electricity generated is used directly on-site. Further optimizations to increase self-consumption are currently being evaluated.

The system supports the implementation of the ROSEN Group’s sustainability goals and ranks among the most significant energy projects of recent years. It underscores the company’s clear commitment to climate protection, energy efficiency, and sustainable business practices.

“By commissioning this system, we are reducing our CO₂ emissions while simultaneously strengthening our self-sufficiency in renewable energy. The project is a key component of our sustainability strategy and demonstrates how we are taking responsibility for the long-term development of our company in Lingen,” says Carlos Sabido Ponce, Managing Director of ROSEN Technology and Research Center GmbH.

The implementation posed significant technical and planning challenges for all parties involved. The solar systems were installed on nearly all suitable building roofs across the company’s approximately 35-hectare large site and integrated into the existing energy infrastructure. This required extensive modifications to the power supply as well as the integration of a total of seven transformer stations. A total of approximately 21,000 meters of new cable was installed to connect the individual system components. The technical infrastructure links the decentralized systems into a high-performance overall network, giving the project a special scale from a technical perspective as well. Due to its technical complexity and scope, it ranks among the most extraordinary energy projects in the region.

This successful project is the result of a long-standing and trusting collaboration between the ROSEN Group and Stadtwerke Lingen. The two companies have been linked by a close partnership for more than four decades. In addition to implementing the photovoltaic project, Stadtwerke Lingen has been reliably supplying the site with energy for many years and supports ROSEN with flexible procurement models for electricity.

“This project exemplifies the successful collaboration between ROSEN and Stadtwerke Lingen. We have been united by a partnership based on trust for more than 40 years. We are all the more pleased that together we were able to implement a solution that combines economic, environmental, and regional interests,” say Thorsten Schlamann and Hermann Cordes, managing directors of Stadtwerke Lingen.

The project is also of particular significance from a technical standpoint. “A project of this magnitude is also something special for us. The demands on planning, coordination, and technical implementation were correspondingly high. The result demonstrates what is possible through close collaboration among all parties involved. With its successful commissioning, a project has been created that impressively underscores the importance of renewable energy for regional industry,” says Marco Klus, Head of Energy Systems at Stadtwerke Lingen.

In addition to the ROSEN Group and Stadtwerke Lingen, other regional partners made significant contributions to the project’s success. The companies Garten- und Landschaftsbau Lüske, Vrielmann GmbH, and E.M.S. Sun Control GmbH contributed their technical expertise to the project’s implementation and supported its successful completion. ROSEN and Stadtwerke Lingen thank all those involved for their trusting and constructive collaboration.

Also today, the project partners are announcing the further expansion of the photovoltaic system at the Lingen site. Additional and newly available space offers potential for further installations that can further strengthen the sustainable energy supply in the future. The expansion, which will take place on two buildings or sections of buildings, includes plans for approximately 1,000 additional modules with an electrical output of an additional
450 kWp.

With the successful completion of the project, ROSEN Group and Stadtwerke Lingen are not only strengthening the sustainable energy supply at the company’s site but are also setting an example for regional cooperation, local value creation, and the joint shaping of the energy transition in the Emsland region.
